Ruth began her musical studies at an early age with her mother and teacher Pauline Badder. She later started violin and performed in the Chatham Strings (Youth Orchestra) for 8 years. During this time she performed as both violin and piano soloist and accompanist for music festivals across Ontario. Ruth has sung with the "Royal Conservatory Chamber Choir", "Toronto Singers", and the "York Classics Ensemble". Ruth graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music and University of Western Ontario with an Honours A.R.C.T. Teachers Degree in piano. She graduated from the Western Conservatory of Music, University of Western Ontario with Honours A. Mus. performance Degree in voice. She did post graduate studies in Pipe Organ and is a member of the "Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association" and the "Royal Conservatory of Music Chapter Alumni Association". Ruth composes and teaches piano, voice, and theory at her private studio. She has been teaching for 25 years and this is her second teaching year at H.M.D.C.S. She is the organist and Choir Director of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Aurora. She has been married to husband Robert for 24 years and have three sons Michael 19, Mathew 17, Mark 15 and Hanna 5 years old.
